The Portland Timbers, Timbers Reserves, and Thorns FC will all play home matches at JELD-WEN Field this weekend. The Timbers take on the Whitecaps Saturday night at 8pm (ROOT SPORTS), the Thorns battle FC Kansas City on Sunday at 5:30pm (FOX Soccer) and the Timbers Reserves play the Whitecaps Reserves Sunday at 2pm PT--all of which will contribute a lot of coming and going to the stadium.
However, with the Oregon Department of Transportation's work on I-84 this weekend, fans traveling to and from the game from the east side of the Willamette River will need to carefully plan their route to avoid delays.
This weekend marks the last of several weekends during which I-84 will be under construction, as ODOT crews repave the interstate between I-5 and I-205.
From 11 p.m. on Saturday, August 3 until 5 a.m. on Monday, August 5 all westbound lanes of I-84 will be closed between I-5 and I-205.
