A big thank you to all of the many volunteers from the Timbers Army and students from University of Portland who joined Timber Joey and Stand Together Community Partner, Friends of Trees last weekend to help plant trees in North Portland, not far from where Timbers 2 will play at UP's Merlo Field.
Together, there were more than 120 new trees planted in the St. Johns, University Park and Cathedral Park neighborhoods. These saplings will help absorb carbon dioxide, remove pollutants from the air and intercept storm water to help keep our rivers clean. It was a great way to kick off the 2015 season and show our support of T2's community.
