Fanendo Adi continued his habit of scoring goals in pairs Saturday in the Portland Timbers 2-0 win over the New England Revolution. Adi's second capped some fantastic build-up play on the right side from teammates Darlington Nagbe, Diego Chara and Alvas Powell all in the mix. In the end, Adi got a perfect touch on the ball to deftly place Powell's cross into the back of the net and it is that goal that is nominated for the Week 15 AT&T MLS Goal of the Week:
That said, Week 14 had it all in the goals department.
This week's four other nominees for the AT&T MLS Goal of the Week are as varied as they are special. You have Sebastian Giovinco's mazy run and finish for Toronto FC, Chicago Fire forward Kennedy Igboananike's close-range shot following a perfectly executed short corner, Orlando City rookie Cyle Larin's blast and the bomb Thomas McNamara hit to help New York City FC break a long winless streak.
Worthy competition, to be sure. However, Vote Adi! – the winner will be announced on Friday.
Voting runs until 11:59 pm PT on Thursdays. For complete coverage of the AT&T MLS Goal of the Week – including an archive of all of this season’s nominees and winners – click here.
