UPDATE FOLLOWING WEDNESDAY'S PLAY

Edgar "RCTID Thiago" Guerrero concluded play in the eMLS League Series 2 qualifiers Wednesday night with a 1-3-2 record on the evening. Combined with his Tuesday results, Guerrero was 3-6-3 in LS2 which put him in 20th place.

Portland opened the evening with an exciting, goal-filled, 3-3 draw with Houston Dynamo's Adamou_99. Down 2-0 in the first half, Thiago roared back to tie it in the 89th minute on a nice goal from Kylian Mbappe.

Mbappe continued to play the hero for Thiago as he scored the lone goal in a 1-0 victory over St. Louis City SC's Hasib_7. Guerrero pulled off a cagey 0-0 draw with Chicago's KidM3mito but also dealt with losses to Minnesota United's Lamps, Montreal's Loux11 and a heartbreaking 2-1 loss to Charlotte's Khalid Ali to close out the night.

Though Thiago did not qualify for the LS2 knockouts this weekend (12pm PT on Saturday and Sunday on MLS' Twitch), his total record of 8-12-6 – produced from both LS2 and League Series 1 qualifier results – puts him at 19th place heading into the eMLS Cup tournament at SXSW in Austin in March. There, Guerrero will enter the Last Chance Qualifier Tournament – a mini group stage tournament between players finishing in 12th-27th place – all vying to make the eMLS Cup round of 12.

UPDATE FOLLOWING TUESDAY'S PLAY

Edgar "RCTID Thiago" Guerrero concluded his first day of play in eMLS League Series 2 presented by Coca-Cola with a 2-3-1 record. Currently sitting in 19th place, he is five points out of a top eight finish that would place him in the weekend knockouts.

Thiago began the evening with a commanding 6-0 thrashing of Columbus Crew SC's Ntartaglia01 and followed that up with an exciting 3-3 draw with LA Galaxy veteran GODFATHER. Down 3-1 in the first half, Portland stormed back to pull even in the second and narrowly stole three points.

Orlando's JMendez17 played a possession heavy game to beat Thiago 4-0 before New England's YounggCarter defeated the Timbers 5-1.

The fifth game of the evening proved to be complicated. Thiago originally defeated first place finisher, D.C. United's KingCJ01, with a dramatic 3-2 victory. However, due to a technical glitch in the connection, it was ruled that the final 13 minutes of the game had to be replayed with both teams starting with a 2-2 scoreline. DCU scored two quick goals, handing Thiago a 4-2 loss.

Closing out the night, the Timbers faced Atlanta United and Brazil eNational Team player PauloNeto999. Thiago jumped to a 2-1 lead early and had a spectacular penalty kick save from Petr Cech to hold off Atlanta's comeback. Portland then iced the win with a beautiful slip pass from Neymar to Fernando Llorente to give Thiago a 3-1 victory over Neto.

eMLS LS2

LS2 is both a standalone tournament – with a $20,000 prize pool – as well as part of the 2022 season. The top eight players after qualifying play on Tuesday and Wednesday matches move on to the LS2 weekend knockouts – Quarterfinals on Saturday at 12pm PT, Semifinals and Final on Sunday at 12pm PT (both on MLS' Twitch). The qualifiers also then cumulatively count alongside League Series 1 results to the overall 2022 eMLS regular season standing and provide seeding for the eMLS Cup tournament at SXSW in Austin in March. There, the top 11 finishers from the regular season make the knockout rounds with the remaining 16 players competing in a Last Chance Bracket for a 12th seed.

Following LS1 play, Guerrero currently sits in 17th place in the 27 team field but only three points out of a guaranteed 11th eMLS Cup seeding.
