Marcina and Urquijo Players of the WeekTAMPA, FL – United Soccer Leagues announced the USL First Division and USL Second Division Teams of the Week for the 10th week of the season, honoring Montreal’s Alen Marcina and Baltimore’s Harold Urquijo as the Players of the Week, respectively. Returning to Canada proved to be an immediate positive for Alen Marcina as he helped guide the Montreal Impact to a draw and a win on the road this week. He was sent to Montreal for Lars Lyssand a week before after having found himself on the bench this season in Puerto Rico after leading the Islanders in scoring last year. Moments after falling behind at the 85-minute mark in Portland Thursday night the Canadian striker used a slight touch to put the ball past goalkeeper Josh Wicks to level the score with four minutes remaining in his second game with the club. Two nights later in Seattle Marcina got his first start with the club and came through in the 71st minute when his lofted centering pass found Leonardo Di Lorenzo at the far post for the game-winner to move the Impact to 5-2-5 on the season with the second best points per match average. After starting the season with four losses, the expansion Crystal Palace Baltimore side has quietly been working their way up the table with a run of six straight unbeaten (3-0-3) to pull within reach of playoff contention. Harold Urquijo led the club to a 2-2 draw in Cincinnati Saturday. The U-20 Columbian international was instrumental in leading the club to a 2-0 lead on the road at halftime with a goal and an assist. Leading scorer Matthew Mbuta broke down the left side in the 18th minute of play, and passed to Urquijo, who split two Kings defenders. Urquijo broke in on the goalkeeper from 25 yards out and as the Cincinnati keeper moved off his line he calmly slotted the ball into the lower left corner for a 1-0 Palace lead.Ten minutes later it was Urquijo who made the second goal when he beat a defender on the right and slotted the ball to Josh Alcala, who beat the Cincinnati keeper from 12 yards out to put Palace up by two. The insurance goal proved critical as the Kings rallied to tie the game in the final nine minutes.
