While the U.S. Women’s National Team is one step closer to Canada 2015, Thorns FC players continue to compete across the globe.

Amber Brooks and Bayern Munich had a big weekend. Brooks started and played the first half as she helped Bayern earn a 4-0 win against SC Sand. Bayern currently sits atop the Frauen Bundesliga table. The club is riding a four-game winning streak and is also unbeaten in its first eight games this season. The Frauen Bundesliga takes a break for international friendlies this week, but Bayern will be back in action with a second round DFB Cup match against FF USV Jena on Nov. 2nd.

In the Land Down Under, teammates in Portland turned opponents as Steph Catley and Nadine Angerer faced off in a rematch of the 2014 W-League Grand Final. Catley, who made her 58th career appearance for the Melbourne Victory, as the Angerer’s Brisbane Roar side fought back from a 1-0 deficit to grab a 1-1 draw.

Angerer heads to Germany for the week to join the national team for friendlies against France and Sweden. Catley and the Victory take on Canberra United this weekend.

Catley chatted with Chris Brookes of Beats and Rhymes FC recently. Check out her interview which includes some funny anecdotes about some of her Thorns FC teammates.

Rachel Van Hollebeke did not appear for Iga FC in its weekend match, but is continuing to enjoy her time in Japan. Iga FC is back in action Oct. 31.
