It’s official, a total of eight players from five different countries will represent Thorns FC at the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup, which gets underway in less than two weeks on June 6. Our players have been busy preparing and here is what they have been up to.

FOX Sports announced the complete TV schedule for the tournament last week; every match will be broadcast live, click here for the full rundown. The U.S. Women’s National Team plays one final Send-Off Series match this week at Red Bull Arena on Saturday, May 30, against Korea Republic. The match is live on ESPN and kicks off at 1:30 p.m. (Pacific).

Goalkeeper Nadine Angerer, who was officially named her fifth FIFA Women’s World Cup roster, announced that she will retire from international soccer after the 2015 World Cup, while the 2015 season will be her last with Thorns FC and her last playing club soccer. Laura Vescey and Fox Sports talked to Angerer about the pressures of Germany’s number one ranking in the world heading into the tournament.

Tournament hosts Canada have been busy preparing and returned home this past week to great fanfare, arriving in Toronto ahead of their upcoming friendly against England on May 29.

Across the pond, Thorns FC forward and England international Jodie Taylor enjoyed a fun trip to meet Prince William as the England Women’s National Team presented the newest royal, Charlotte, with an England jersey. Read more here.

Steph Catley, along with Taylor, is primed to make her World Cup debut in Canada, and before leaving Australia last week, the Matildas played a send-off friendly in front of a crowd of nearly 5,000 against Vietnam. Catley started and helped the squad earn an 11-0 win.

The Women’s Game, a popular Australian women’s soccer blog, sat down with a handful of Australia Women’s National Team players for a “This Is Me” video segment, including Catley, which you can watch below:
