Signed by the Timbers on Jan. 17, 2012, Mosquera joins the Timbers after playing six seasons in Colombia’s top leagues. He spent most of those in the Liga Postobon (first division), splitting time between Corporación Deportes Quindío (2007-10) and Club Deportivo La Equidad Seguros (2010-11). In total, Mosquera appeared in 127 matches and scored six goals in Colombia’s top flight.
2013: The club granted permission March 18 for Mosquera to return to Colombia indefinitely due to personal reasons ...
2012: Started 25 of his 26 appearances in his first season with the Timbers ... Made his club debut on the road in a 1-1 draw March 17 at FC Dallas ... Earned honorable mention on MLSsoccer.com’s Team of the Week in Week 2 ... Was named to MLSsoccer.com’s Team of the Week in Week 6 for his efforts against the LA Galaxy on April 14 ... Registered his first MLS assist May 20 in a 2-1 win over the Chicago Fire, helping set up the go-ahead goal by Eric Brunner ... Started and played all 90 minutes in eight straight matches April 14 through June 17 ... Was in the Starting XI for each of the Timbers’ five shutouts during the 2012 campaign.
2011: Played in 34 matches, scored two goals and aided in 10 shutouts during league play for La Equidad … Anchored La Equidad’s backline during the Apertura campaign, starting 22 games and contributing to nine clean sheets … Started six matches during the Apertura playoffs and scored the equalizer in a 1-1 draw in the second leg of the quarterfinal series against Envigado … Helped La Equidad reach the Apertura finals, eventually falling to Atlético Nacional on penalty kicks … Scored his second goal of the season during the Clausura season, netting the equalizer in a 1-1 draw against Tolima on Nov. 23 … In the 2011 Copa Sudamericana, played in four games and tallied the game-winning goal in an opening-round match against Peruvian side Juan Aurich on Aug. 18.
2010: Split the year between Quindío and La Equidad … Made 15 appearances for Quindío during the Apertura tournament and scored a goal … Joined La Equidad in June and played in 19 games … La Equidad finished in seventh place and qualified for the Clausura playoffs … Helped the club advance to the semifinals of the 2010 Copa Colombia tournament and qualify for the 2011 Copa Sudamericana – one of the elite club tournaments in South America … In total, appeared in 80 games and scored four goals over parts of four seasons with Quindío.
2009: Played 18 games during his second full season with Quindío … Set a career high, scoring two goals during the season … Quindío nearly qualified for the Apertura playoffs, missing out by three points … Aided in the club’s run to the quarterfinal of the 2009 Copa Colombia tournament, bowing out to Junior on penalty kicks.
2008: Saw time in 26 games during the season for Quindío and scored a goal … Was part of Quindío’s squad that qualified for the Apertura postseason, finishing eighth in the table with a 6-5-7 record.
2007: Made the move to Colombia’s top flight midway through the season, joining Quindío for the Clausura campaign … Played in 17 games during the second phase of the season as Quindío missed out on the postseason by two points … Started the season with second-division club Centauros Villavicencio, helping the club reach the playoffs with a fourth-place finish in Group B.
2006: Played his first professional season at age 19 with Corporación Deportiva Centauros Villavicencio of Colombia’s second division … Was part of Centauros top-ranked defense in 2006, in which the backline finished the Torneo Postobón’s Clausura campaign tied for the fewest goals allowed, conceding just 17 goals in 18 games … Finished the Clausura tournament a top Group A and qualified for the postseason with a record of 9-2-7.
