Veteran goalkeeper enters his seventh MLS season after a solid 2011 campaign with the Timbers ... Over his previous six MLS seasons, he has 48 wins and 33 shutouts to his credit ... The Timbers acquired the former MLS Goalkeeper of the Year from D.C. United in exchange for goalkeeper Steve Cronin and allocation money on Dec. 17, 2010. In his career, Perkins has earned six caps with the U.S. Men’s Na­tional Team and was the starting goalkeeper as the United States reached the finals of the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

2012: Has made 50 consecutive starts at goalkeeper ... Has been nominated for MLS Save of the Week in Weeks 12 (won), 17 and 20 ... Wore the captain's armband for the first time with the club against FC Dallas on July 21 ... Set a new club-record streak of 377 minutes without allowing a goal on May 20 against Chicago ... Made seven saves and registered his third shutout of the season on May 15 against Houston ... Earned his second shutout of the season with one save in a 0-0 draw with Columbus on May 5 ... Streak of 3,307 straight minutes in goal ended on April 28 ... Recorded his first shutout of the season on April 21 against Sporting KC ... Earned his 50th career win on April 21, making two saves ... Faced 11 shots on goal April 14 against the LA Galaxy, the second-most shots faced in his MLS career ... Made his 130th career MLS start on March 17 against FC Dallas, stopping two shots in the 1-1 draw ... Started for the Timbers in the club's season-opening victory over Philadelphia March 12 ... 2011: Was a strong presence in goal for the Timbers, mak­ing 29 consecutive starts from April 23-Oct. 2 ... Earned an MLS career-high nine shutouts, besting his previous mark of eight set in both 2006 and 2007 ... His nine shutouts were tied for third-best in the league ... Recorded three straight clean sheets Aug. 24-Sept. 16, and set Portland’s MLS franchise-long shutout streak at 342 minutes without allowing a goal ... Registered his ninth shutout of the season in a 1-0 win over Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Oct. 2 ... Also ranked among league leaders in both saves (91) and wins (9) ... Won MLSSoccer.com’s Save of the Week honor in Week 10, 17, 18 and 28; his four distinctions were among the most for any goalkeeper in 2011 ... Made a season-high seven saves July 16 in a 1-0 win at Chicago, leading the club to its first MLS road victory ... Recorded the first shutout in Timbers MLS history, making three saves, in a 1-0 win over Real Salt Lake on April 30 ... Missed the first five matches of the season with a right knee injury ... 2010: D.C. United re-acquired the former MLS Goalkeeper of the Year on Jan. 13, after trading midfielder Fred and allocation money to Philadelphia Union for the top spot in the player allocation order ... Took over the starting job for good in the second half of the season ... Played 22 games (all starts) in goal, registering five shutouts and a 1.68 goals-against average ... Appeared in 26 games (24 starts) in all competitions.

2009: In his second season with Vålerenga, started 27 league matches as the club finished seventh in the Tip­peligen ... Started 33 games in all competitions, recording seven clean sheets ... Got his first taste of UEFA Cup foot­ball, starting two matches for Vålerenga in the prestigious competition.

2008: After making the switch to Europe and signing for Norwegian first-division side Vålerenga IF, he immedi­ately broke into the lineup and helped his new club to its first Norwegian Cup title in six years ... In the Cup final, Vålerenga defeated Stabaek 4-1 with Perkins in goal, as Vålerenga earned UEFA Cup qualification amongst Europe’s elite teams.

2007: After taking home top goalkeeping honors in 2006 as MLS Goalkeeper of the Year, put together another solid year between the pipes for D.C. United ... Led MLS in wins for a second straight season, posting a record of 16-6-7 ... His goals-against average (1.10), saves (117), minutes played (2,610), save percentage (75.5) and shutouts (8) were all among the top five in the league ... His streak of 362 minutes without allowing a goal (July 22-Aug. 22) was the fourth-longest in MLS ... Named MLS August Player of the Month, after compiling a 5-0 record and 0.20 GAA ... Matched his career high with nine saves in D.C. United’s 0-0 result vs. Chicago on Oct. 13.

2006: Enjoyed a breakout year, quickly establishing himself as one of the top goalkeepers in MLS while earning MLS Goalkeeper of the Year ... Started all but two matches and tied for the second-most minutes on the pitch (2,700) ... Led all MLS keepers in wins (15) and was among league leaders in goals-against average (1.13) and shutouts (8) ... Owned three of the season’s longest shutout streaks, holding opposing teams scoreless for 338, 247 and 243 minutes during the year ... Received his first career MLS Player of the Week award for his performances against Chicago and Kansas City in Week 13, coming up with seven saves between the two games ... Selected to his first MLS All-Star team and helped keep a clean sheet against England’s Chelsea FC.

2005: In his second full season with United, made two league appearances (both starts), finishing with a 1-1 record and a 1.00 goals-against average ... Led the D.C. United reserve team to the inaugural MLS Reserve League championship by posting a 1.50 goals-against average and 8-3 record, playing all but 61 minutes between the posts.

2004: Joined D.C. United as an undrafted rookie ... Was originally signed to a developmental contract before earn­ing a spot on the senior roster later in the year ... Back­stopped D.C. United to their first road win of the year with a clean sheet in only his second match of the season, a 1-0 win over New England on May 29 ... Finished the campaign with three shutouts and a 1.63 goals-against average in 16 MLS appearances.

INTERNATIONAL: Made his U.S. National Team debut in 2009, on Jan. 24 against Sweden at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., helping the United States to a 3-2 victory ... Bolstered the U.S. team in goal during the sum­mer months in the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup ... Made five appearances during the tournament, keeping three clean sheets ... Named USSoccer.com’s Man of the Match for his efforts in the 2-0 Gold Cup semifinal victory over Honduras ... Ended 2009 with six national team caps and a 1.26 GAA, the best of any U.S. goalkeeper during the year ... Was called into two U.S. Men’s National Team camps in January 2007 but did not see the field.

COLLEGE: Completed his college career at the University of Evansville in 2003 after transferring from the University of South Florida before his senior season ... Played every minute of every match in his lone season for the Purple Aces ... Allowed only 21 goals in 19 matches, compiling a 1.09 goals-against average ... Played in all 18 of USF’s games his junior season, earning All-Conference-USA sec­ond-team honors after racking up seven clean sheets dur­ing the 2002 campaign ... With a 1.25 GAA in the campaign, was also honored twice as the C-USA Defensive Player of the Week ... In his second year at USF, started all 22 games he played in and recorded a 1.27 GAA ... Was named to the All-Conference-USA third team as a sophomore ... Was a starter during his freshman year for the Bulls, earning a 1.96 goals-against average in 18 games.

PERSONAL: Backstopped the Cape Cod Crusaders (Premier Development League) to the club’s first national champion­ship in 2002, compiling a 16-4-2 record between the goal posts ... His 0.87 goals-against average was the second-lowest in the PDL for the 2002 season ... Lists carpentry as a hobby ... Is a skilled chef, specializing in southern dishes.
