Adam Kwarasey

A highly experienced, yet still young goalkeeper, Norway-born Adam Larsen Kwarasey joined the Timbers on Dec. 8, 2014. The Ghana National Team goalkeeper saw action during the 2014 FIFA World Cup and spent eight seasons playing in Norway’s Tippeligaen.

2016: Played 50 minutes and recorded three saves during the team’s 3-1 win over the Earthquakes on April 16 before suffering an injury ... Started and played the full 90 minutes in all six games to begin the season ... Tallied 17 saves in 31 shots faced.

2015: Started and played five matches (480 minutes) of the MLS Cup Playoffs ... Made one save in a 2-1 win over Columbus Crew SC in MLS Cup on Dec. 6 ... Made four saves in a 3-1 win against FC Dallas in the first leg of the conference championship on Nov. 22 ... Registered his first shutout in the MLS Cup Playoffs, stopping two shots in a 2-0 win against Vancouver in the second leg of the Western Conference Semifinals on Nov. 8 ... Missed Portland's Western Conference Semifinal first leg match on Nov. 1 due to the flu ... Played 120 minutes, logging a penalty kick goal and the decisive save in a 2-2 draw (7-6 win on PKs) against Sporting KC in the Western Conference Knockout Round on Oct. 29 ... 2014: Made 26 league appearances in his final season with Strømsgodset in the Norwegian Tippeligaen ... Was named to the Ghana National Team roster for the 2014 FIFA World Cup and appeared in the Black Stars’ opening Group G match against the United States, playing 90 minutes in a 2-1 loss on June 16 ... Made two appearances for Strømsgodset in UEFA Champions League qualifying matches against Steaua Bucuresti on July 16 and July 23.

2013: Was named Tippeligaen Goalkeeper of the Year, helping lead Strømsgodset to a league title making 30 league appearances ... Collected 10 clean sheets during the regular season ... Made three appearances in UEFA Europa League qualifying matches, earning a shutout against Hungarian side Debrecen on July 25, 2013 ... Earned a win for the Ghana National Team during the year, a 4-2 victory over Turkey in an international friendly on Jan. 13 ... Also helped lead Ghana to a 2-2 draw against Turkey in a friendly on Aug. 14.

2012: Helped Strømsgodset to a second-place finish in the Tippeligaen, making 29 league appearances as Strømsgodset finished with a 17-6-7 (58pts) record ... Made 13 appearances for Ghana during the calendar year, helping lead the Black Stars to the semifinals of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations ... Ghana finished the tournament in fourth place ... Appeared in three international friendly matches during the year, against South Africa, Chile and China PR (all ending in 1-1 draws) ... Appeared in two FIFA World Cup qualifying matches for Ghana, a 7-0 win over Lesotho and a 1-0 loss against Zambia in group play ... Made two appearances in 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying games against Malawi, earning consecutive shutouts ... Made his Ghana National Team debut on Sept. 2, 2011, against Swaziland in a 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match, earning a 2-0 win ... Appeared in an international friendly against Brazil on Sept. 5, 2011, playing well in a 1-0 loss.

2010: Became the full-time starting goalkeeper for Strømsgodset ahead of the 2010 Norwegian Tippeligaen season ... Made 29 appearances during the season and helped Strømsgodset win the 2010 Norwegian Football Cup with a 2-0 shutout performance in the final.

2009: Made four appearances during the 2009 Tippeligaen season, starting the first three matches of the season.

2008: Earned playing time in four matches (2 starts) for Strømsgodset during the regular season ... Played five minutes as a late-game substitute for the Norway U-21 National Team in a 4-1 win over Iceland U-21s on June 12, 2008.

2007: Made his professional debut for Strømsgodset on May 6, 2007, starting and playing 90 minutes in a 1-1 draw against Lyn in Tippeligaen action ... Earned a 3-1-0 record in four appearances during the season.

INTERNATIONAL: Has earned 23 caps for the Ghana National Team since his debut on Sept. 2, 2011 in a Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Swaziland ... Made one appearance during the 2014 FIFA World Cup, starting and playing 90 minutes in a 2-1 loss against the United States on June 16, 2014 ... Helped Ghana reach the semifinals of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
