12' - GOAL (MTL). Following a foul called in the box against Portland, Montréal's Ignacio Piatti stepped to the spot and converted the penalty kick for a 1-0 Impact lead.
18' - RED CARD (POR). Six minutes later, the Timbers went down to ten men following a straight red card to Portland midfielder Diego Chara who was fighting for the ball with Montréal's Piatti.
43' - GOAL (MTL). The Impact doubled their lead to 2-0 late in the first half when Kyle Fisher headed home a Montréal corner into the goal.
45+1' - GOAL (MTL). Portland fought back in stoppage time as defender Alvas Powell cut in from the right side outside the 18-yard box and spied Valeri near the back post. His lofted cross found Valeri who headed it in and cut the deficit 2-1 just before halftime.

50' - GOAL (MTL). Piatti scored his second goal of the game in the 50th minute as he slotted home a shot to make make the score 3-1 in favor of Portland.
63' - CHANCE (POR). On a Portland corner, Valeri found space in the mixer and headed the cross just over the bar.
75' - CHANCE (POR). Forward Fanendo Adi narrowly missed the right post as his header flashed wide. The ball was curled in nicely from Timbers defender Vytas.
77' - GOAL (MTL). Though Portland had been pressuring to find another goal and controlling the run of play, Montréal scored their fourth of the match as Ambroise Oyongo skipped a low shot into the back of the net for a 4-1 lead.
