In the crown jewel of MLS rivalry week, the Portland Timbers will play host to Seattle Sounders FC Sunday night at Providence Park (broadcast begins at 7pm PT with kickoff at 7:30pm PT, ESPN2). Here are five numbers to know for #PORvSEA in the latest edition of Quick Strikes.
200 With his next appearance, Darlington Nagbe will become the first Timbers player to reach the 200 games played mark with the club. If he plays on Sunday, Nagbe will be the second-youngest player ever to hit the 200-games played mark with a single MLS club, bested only by Eddie Gaven.
23In nine MLS home games against Seattle, the Timbers have fired home 23 goals. No MLS team has scored more goals against a single opponent at home since 2011 than Portland has against the Sounders.
7Forward Fanendo Adi not only has the most goals in Timbers club history but he also has a penchant for scoring against the club's biggest rival. Adi's seven goals against Seattle are tied for the most by any Timbers player against a single MLS opponent and also tied for most goals by a Timbers player against the Sounders in all eras of the rivalry (since 1975).
67Since their first MLS matchup in 2011, clashes between the two clubs have been hotly contested. The 67 yellow cards and 477 fouls called in Timbers/Sounders matches are each the third-most in those two categories of any fixture in that timespan.
5For the fifth consecutive season, the Timbers and Sounders FC will square off in a competitive match multiple times in the same calendar month. Including the pre-MLS era of Seattle facing Portland, this has occurred in 22 different months.
