PORTLAND, Ore. – Major League Soccer today unveiled the full 34-game, 2018 regular-season schedule for the Portland Timbers. The Timbers kick off the 2018 season with an away match against the LA Galaxy on Sunday, March 4, at the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif. Beginning at 7 p.m. (Pacific), the Timbers’ season-opening match against the Galaxy will be televised nationally on FS1.

After playing their first five regular-season matches on the road, due to the construction currently underway at Providence Park as part of phase one of the stadium expansion, the Timbers’ home opener will take place on Saturday, April 14, against Minnesota United at 7:30 p.m. (Pacific).
Starting on Wednesday, Feb. 28, at 10 a.m. (Pacific), fans can purchase single-game tickets for the first half of the season (through July 21) online or by calling (888) 736-6849. A special presale for Timbers Annual Members and members of the Timbers Annual Member Waiting List, Thorns FC Annual Members and corporate partners will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 27. Single-game tickets for the second half of the season will go on sale in late June. In 2018, the Timbers will have at least 12 matches featured on national television, including six matches at Providence Park against New York City FC (April 22), Cascadia-rival Seattle Sounders FC (May 13, Aug. 26), expansion club Los Angeles FC (May 19), LA Galaxy (June 2) and the Houston Dynamo (July 28).
The Timbers will face Seattle Sounders FC on May 13 at Providence Park in one of three meetings between the two sides, and the first of two at Providence Park. All three of the matches between Portland and Seattle will feature a national television broadcast, with the Timbers set to travel to CenturyLink Field in Seattle on June 30 (FOX), before returning to Providence Park to close out the regular-season series against Sounders FC on Aug. 26. Seattle is the only Western Conference team to visit Providence Park twice during the 2018 regular season.
Portland also will face Vancouver Whitecaps FC twice during the regular season, with the Timbers set to host Whitecaps FC on Aug. 11, before traveling to Vancouver to play the final game of the regular season on Oct. 28.
Additionally, Portland will face five Eastern Conference opponents at Providence Park this season. The Timbers will play host to Eastern Conference teams New York City FC (April 22), Montreal Impact (July 21), Philadelphia Union (Aug. 4), Toronto FC (Aug. 29) and Columbus Crew SC (Sept. 19). Squaring off against Eastern Conference foes on the road, Portland will travel to face the New York Red Bulls (March 10), Chicago Fire (March 31), Orlando City SC (April 8), Atlanta United FC (June 24), D.C. United (Aug. 15), and the New England Revolution (Sept. 1). Fans can check the Timbers schedule page to see flight options available through Alaska Airlines.
The Timbers play home matches on three different days of the week this season, including 15 weekend contests. In addition to four Sunday home games, the Timbers play host to 11 Saturday and two Wednesday fixtures at Providence Park.
The full television and radio broadcast schedule for the 2018 season will be announced at a later date.
