ATLANTA – The Portland Timbers extended their unbeaten streak across all competitions to 11 games as they earned a hard-fought point on the road with a 1-1 draw against Atlanta United FC at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Timbers defender Larrys Mabiala scored in the 32nd minute and goalkeeper Jeff Attinella made nine saves to tie his career high.

10' - CHANCE (POR) - After weathering some sustained Atlanta attack, Portland worked the left wing with Samuel Armenteros cutting into the area. Sebastián Blanco's shot skittered wide, was collected by Alvas Powell and dished to Diego Valeri but his lofted shot went high.
21' - SAVE (POR) - Timbers goalkeeper Jeff Attinella made a diving, fingertip save on a headed ball from inside the box via Atlanta's Franco Escobar.
23' - CHANCE (POR) - Blanco, sneaking into space in the 18-yard box, received an expertly played ball from Powell and hit a hard shot that clanged off the left post.
29' - CHANCE (POR) - Powell, sprung on the right from a great ball over the top from Blanco, slid the ball to a speeding Armenteros on the edge of the six-yard box. The striker got a foot to it but Atlanta goalkeeper Brad Guzan managed to block it away.
32' - GOAL (POR) - The Timbers drew first blood on a wonderfully executed set piece. Valeri served in a great free kick ball from the left side of the field. Armenteros flicked it on goal forcing a great save from Guzan only to have Portland defender Larrys Mabiala head in the rebound to give the Timbers a 1-0 lead.
52' - CHANCE (ATL) - Josef Martínez, freed on a through ball, carried in on goal. Attinella came off his line to deflect the initial shot and Martínez's lofted follow-up went over the bar.
56' - GOAL (ATL) - After working the ball around the Timbers end, Julian Gressel pounced on a deflected ball inside the box, turned and fired into goal to even the score at 1-1.
71' - CHANCE (POR) - Powell, sprung again forward on a ball, this time from Andrés Flores, cut in to goal from the right side. His shot was stopped by Guzan and while Armenteros sprinted to get the rebound, Atlanta's Michael Parkhurst made an emergency clearance.
80' - CHANCE (POR) - The Timbers, speeding out on a counter attack. saw Valeri send a ball forward to Flores. Flores spied Guzan well off his line and chipped a shot that narrowly missed the left post.
81' - CHANCE (ATL) - Coming back the other way for Atlanta, Héctor Villalba took a shot from 30 yards out that pinged off the cross bar.
83' - SAVE (POR) - Moments later, Attinella kept the score even as he dove to his left to stop a bouncing shot from Villalba.
87' - CHANCE (POR) - The Timbers nearly had the game-winner as Powell, finding all kinds of space all game on the right side, curled in a low cross to the top of the six that forward Jeremy Ebobisse redirected just wide of the far post.
90+4' - SAVE (POR) - Attinella again came up big in stoppage time when he stopped a galloping Miguel Almirón in the box. Attinella cut off the angle, stopped the hard-angled shot and then gobbled up the rebound.
The Timbers stay on the road this week as they head to Washington state for the 101st all-time meeting with Seattle Sounders FC on June 30. Kickoff is at 1:30pm PT on FOX.
