After snagging their first regular-season win in MLS play against Seattle Sounders FC Saturday with a 3-2 win at CenturyLink Field, the Portland Timbers had two players on the MLS Team of the Week (Wk 18), presented by Audi in defender Larrys Mabiala and midfielder Diego Valeri.
Mabiala's brace was the first for a Portland defender in their MLS history and his four goals on the season are the most for any defender in MLS. His performance also earned a spot in the Audi Player Index Spotlight (see below). Valeri had three assists in the match making him the first Portland player with three in a single match in the club's history.
