Match Moments
9' - OWN GOAL (POR) - The Timbers went out to an early lead when defender Alvas Powell, open with space on the right side, sent a skipping ball into the Houston 18-yard box in search of Diego Valeri only to have Dynamo defender Alejandro Fuenmayor stick a foot out and deflect it up and over his goalkeeper Joe Willis for an own goal and a 1-0 Portland lead.
18' - SAVE (POR) - On a dangerous Houston ball into the area, the ball bounced off of Larrys Mabiala back towards goal only to have fellow center back Julio Cascante clear the ball off the line.
32' - GOAL (HOU) - The Dynamo tied it up on a set piece as Tomás Martinez chipped a ball into the mixer to find Alberth Elis who headed it past Portland goalkeeper Steve Clark and even the scoreline at 1-1.
39' - GOAL (HOU) - Houston doubled their lead seven minutes later as Elis countered down the right side, served a ball across the six-yard box where it was finished by Dynamo striker Mauro Manotas.
43' - CHANCE (POR) - Timbers midfielder Sebastián Blanco expertly dribbled through five different Houston players in the box before hitting a low shot on frame that forced a fingertip save from Willis.
45' - VIDEO REVIEW - Portland had a tying goal called back following a sequence where Blanco played a ball forward to Diego Valeri who crossed it for a Diego Chara tap-in on the back post. However, following a video review, referee Jair Marrufo ruled that Valeri was offside on Blanco's pass.
71' - GOAL (HOU) - Manotas scored his second goal of the match when he knocked in a rebound of an Elis shot to give the Dynamo a 3-1 lead.
76' - CHANCE (POR) - Portland's Jeremy Ebobisse lost his marker on a Valeri corner kick, leapt high and snapped a header down but right at Willis who caught the ball for a save.
81' - GOAL (HOU) - Houston's Fuenmayor made it 4-1 for the Dynamo when he scored another goal for the home side.
90+4' - CHANCE (POR) - Valeri slipped a pass forward to Blanco in the box but he pushed his shot just wide of the left post.
