Postgame Quote Sheet
T2 head coach Cameron Knowles
On his thoughts after being eliminated from the 2018 USL Cup Playoffs…
“It’s a disappointing result for the way we played for the majority of that match. I think we deserved more out of that game for sure, and that’s just the nature of playoff matches. The guys are very disappointed considering they know that we’re good enough to beat any team in this league on our day. To start the game the way that we did and to play that first half so well and even in large parts of the second half… to have nothing to show for it is a tough one for the guys.”
On the team’s breakthrough campaign in 2018…
“We told the players after the game that when we get the opportunity to step back and reflect on the season as a whole and the turnaround from last year; what the players have achieved is really remarkable and that’s a credit to them for setting such a high bar for themselves and for coming into work every day and focusing on improving and getting better. It was tremendous work from the staff – [assistant coach] Andrew Gregor, [goalkeeper coach] Adin Brown, our sports science and medical staff, including the kit men. Everyone was committed to moving this forward and making sure this was a successful season.”
