SAN JOSE, Calif. – The Portland Timbers fell 3-0 to the San Jose Earthquakes at Avaya Stadium on Saturday night. The Timbers return to Providence Park next Sunday, May 14, when they play host to expansion franchise Atlanta United F.C. (1:00p.m. PT, ESPN).

8' - GOAL - San Jose. The Earthquakes got on the board first when Quakes midfielder Jahmir Hyka pounced on a Chris Wondolowski pass in front of goal and powered the ball past Timbers goalkeeper Jeff Attinella


31' - GOAL - San Jose. Earthquakes forward Chris Wondolowski put the Quakes up 2-0 after finishing a pass from teammate Florian Jungwirth past Attinella and into the lower right corner of the net.


55' - GOAL - San Jose. Wondolowski got his second goal of the match when he put a cheeky right-footed shot into the far corner of goal to put the Quakes up 3-0.


63' - SUB. Timbers midfielder Victor Arboleda made his first-team debut when he entered the match for Darren Mattocks.

79' - SHOT. After dribbling by two defenders, midfielder Diego Chara played Timbers first team debutante Victor Arboledain on goal, but Earthquakes goalkeeper David Bingham parried away Arboleda's powerful left-footed shot.


82' - SHOT. This time it was Arboleda who played through teammate Sebastian Blanco. Blanco's left-footed shot was brilliantly saved by Bingham, who got his own left foot extended just far enough to deflect Blanco's effort wide of goal.

83' - Sub. Another Timbers debut, as forward Jeremy Ebobisse earned his first minutes with the Timbers, entering the match for Fanendo Adi.
