8 The match will be the eighth time the Timbers and Sounders have faced off in the U.S. Open Cup since their first meeting in 2005. No two teams have played each other more in the competition in its modern era (1995-present).
105 In addition to their U.S. Open Cup history, the Timbers have played the Sounders more than any other opponent in the club's history. Wednesday's match will be the 105th competitive match between the Cascadia rivals.
5 Five players on Portland's current roster have scored goals for the Timbers in U.S. Open Cup play. Diego Valeri leads the way with three while Dairon Asprilla (two), Sebastián Blanco, Jeremy Ebobisse, and Julio Cascante also have goals.
7 Cheney Stadium will be the seventh different stadium that the two clubs have played against each other in a match. Tacoma is the fourth different city to host a Sounders/Timbers competitive match, joining Portland, Seattle and Tukwila.
