PORTLAND, Ore. - Defender Jeanderson has been named to the USL Team of the Week for week 13 after scoring a goal in T2's 3-1 win over the Austin Aztex on Sunday.
Jeanderson's goal in the 89th minute was T2's third goal, and sealed the win just moments after Austin's Trevin Caesar scored to cut T2's lead to 2-1. It was the first goal that Jeanderson has scored for either the Timbers or T2 since arriving in Portland this offseason.
Jeanderson started and played the entire match at left back. He also played a ball to forward Kharlton Belmar that resulted in a drawn penalty kick and a red card to Austin goalkeeper Devin Perales in the 43rd minute. Forward Fatawu Safiu converted the ensuing penalty kick to give T2 a 2-0 lead.
T2 (5-6-2, 17 pts) play at Cascadia rival Vancouver Whitecaps 2 (3-7-4, 13 pts) this Sunday, June 21, at 2 p.m. (Pacific). Sunday’s road match will be carried on a live, high-definition web stream onwww.timbers2.com.
