Portland Timbers defender
Steven Taylor
has been named to the USL Team of the Week for Week 21 after logging 90 minutes and scoring a goal in a 2-1 win over Orange County Blues FC on Aug. 14 at Merlo Field.
T2 opened the scoring in the 28th minute when midfielder Blake Bodily sent in a delivery from a corner kick that picked out Taylor, who headed the ball in the far right corner of the net for his first goal of the USL season.
Taylor, who signed with the Timbers on Aug. 1, has logged 149 minutes in two appearances for T2 this season, helping the club record back-to-back wins and extend a three-match unbeaten run.
Next up, T2 (7-11-4, 25pts) will travel to play Real Monarchs SLC at Rio Tinto Stadium on Wednesday, Aug. 17; kickoff is set for 6 p.m. (Pacific). The Aug. 17 match will also be available via a live, high-definition web stream at
