T2 forward Kharlton Belmar has been named to the USL Team of the Week for Week 4 after scoring the game-winning goal in Sunday’s 1-0 defeat over Sacramento Republic FC.
Belmar’s tally in the 46th minute was his first of the 2016 USL season and helped T2 hand Republic FC their first loss of the campaign. After dispossessing Sacramento deep in their half, the second-year striker scored the game’s lone goal after taking a touch into the box before calmly bending his shot into the back of the net.
T2 (1-3-0, 3pts) return to action with a pair of road games this week, traveling to Southern California to play Orange County Blues FC (1-2-1, 4pts) on Wednesday, April 20, at Anteater Stadium on the campus of UC Irvine at 7:30 p.m. (Pacific), and taking on Tulsa Roughnecks at ONEOK Field on Saturday, April 23, at 5:30 p.m. (Pacific).
