T2 midfielder Villyan Bijev and goalkeeper Kendall McIntosh have been named to the USL Team of the Week for Week 20 for their performances in a 1-1 draw against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC on Aug. 3 at Merlo Field, and a come from behind 4-3 victory against LA Galaxy II at the StubHub Track & Field Stadium on Aug. 6.

Playing in their second match in four days, Bijev notched a brace and an assist in T2’s 4-3 comeback victory against Galaxy II on Saturday. The Bulgarian midfielder scored his first goal from the penalty spot in the 67th minute and scored his third goal of the season in the 87th minute to tie the game at 3-3. on the left edge of the 18-yard box. Brett cut back onto his right foot and blasted his shot into the back of the net in stoppage time to complete the comeback win. Bijev now has three goals and four assists on the season.
Next up, T2 (6-11-4, 22pts) return to Merlo Field on the campus of the University of Portland to host Orange County Blues FC on Sunday, Aug. 14; kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
