Notably, it marked the first time T2 has earned a point in an MLS NEXT Pro season opener. T2 will make its first appearance in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup since 2015, when they reached the third round of the tournament. El Farolito SC is an amateur team of the National Premier Soccer League based in San Francisco, California, playing their home matches at Boxer Stadium. The team is best known for its 1993 U.S. Open Cup championship under its previous name, Club Deportivo Mexico. Following the Open Cup match, T2 will then host their regular season home opener against The Town FC on Friday, March 22 at 7:30 p.m. (Pacific) at Providence Park.
