Forward Foster Langsdorf was named to the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 7 of the 2019 season after tallying a brace in T2’s 2-2 come-from-behind draw against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC at Merlo Field on April 20.
Langsdorf, on loan from the Timbers, scored his first goal of the night after Nathan Smith raced down the right flank and delivered a low cross across the face of goal to Langsdorf, who placed his shot past Switchbacks FC goalkeeper Abraham Rodriguez from close range in the 63rd minute to level the match at 1-1. Langsdorf completed his brace after he connected with Arturo Diz Pe’s cross and redirected his header past Rodriguez’s outstretched arms in the 86th minute. The goal marked Langsdorf’s team-leading third goal of 2019.
The two-goal performance marked the fourth multi-goal game in Langsdorf’s professional career. Additionally, the second-half brace marked the fourth time this season that a player has tallied two goals in a match for T2.
Langsdorf is the fourth T2 player this season to be named to the USL Championship Team of the Week after Eryk Williamson (Week 4) tallied two assists against LA Galaxy II on March 30, Dairon Asprilla (Week 3) recorded two goals and an assist in a 3-1 win over Las Vegas Lights FC on March 23 and Marvin Loría (Week 2) scored two goals in a 3-1 win over San Antonio FC on March 16.
Next up, T2 travel to face New Mexico United at Isotopes Park on Friday, April 26. Beginning at 7:30 p.m. (Pacific), the match will be streamed live on ESPN+.
