2018 USL Cup Playoffs
With the 2-2 draw at Fresno FC on Sept. 22, T2 clinched a spot in the 2018 USL Cup Playoffs, marking the first time in its four USL seasons that Portland has qualified for the postseason. Portland is one of six teams to clinch a spot in the Western Conference, with Orange County SC, Phoenix Rising FC, Real Monarchs SLC, Reno 1868 FC and Sacramento Republic FC each qualifying for the playoffs. Portland sits in sixth place, four points behind fifth-place Reno 1868 FC.
Offensive firepower
As a team, Portland ranks tied for fifth in the league in goals scored (57). In T2’s 2-2 draw against Fresno FC at Chukchansi Park on Sept. 22, midfielders Jack Barmby and Marvin Loría each tallied their sixth goal of 2018, both converted penalties. Loría leads the team with seven assists and 54 chances created. Forward Foster Langsdorf leads the team and ranks tied for sixth in the league with 14 goals. Barmby’s six goals ranks tied for second on the team with Loría. Midfielders Andre Lewis and Renzo Zambrano are tied for the team lead in passing accuracy (87l1%).
Road form
In sixteen road matches this season, Portland is 7-5-4, which is one of the best road records in the USL this season. Portland is 3-1-2 in its last six road contests dating back to July 28. Seven of T2’s 11 shutouts this season have come on the road. Additionally, three of goalkeeper Alex Mangel’s five shutouts in 2018 have come on the road.

Phoenix Rising FC enter Saturday’s match following a 5-2 loss on the road to Las Vegas Lights FC at Cashman Field, which snapped a five-game unbeaten run dating back to Sept. 8. Rising FC are 10-3-3 in 16 matches at home this season and sit in second place in the Western Conference standings, three points behind first place Orange County SC. Forward Chris Cortez leads the team and ranks fourth in the USL with 17 goals, while midfielder Solomon Asante ranks third in the league in chances created (96). Goalkeeper Carl Woszczynski ranks tied for third in the USL with 12 shutouts.
