2018 USL Cup Playoffs
With the 2-2 draw at Fresno FC on Sept. 22, T2 clinched a spot in the 2018 USL Cup Playoffs, marking the first time in its four USL seasons that Portland has qualified for the postseason. Portland is now the fifth team to clinch a spot in the Western Conference, with Orange County SC, Phoenix Rising FC, Real Monarchs SLC  and Sacramento Republic FC each qualifying for the playoffs. Portland sits in fifth place, two points behind Real Monarchs SLC for an automatic home playoff match in the first round.

Home form
Portland improved to 9-7-0 at home (6-3-0 at Providence Park / 3-4-0 at Merlo Field) with a 4-0 win over Tulsa Roughnecks FC at Providence Park on Sept. 9. T2 are 4-1-0 in their last five home matches dating back to Aug. 15. Eleven of Foster Langsdorf’s 14 goals this season have come in home matches. Additionally, the shutout against Tulsa marked T2’s fourth of the season at home.

Scouting Reno 1868 FC
Reno 1868 FC, the USL affiliate of the San Jose Earthquakes, enter Wednesday’s match following a 2-0 win over Tulsa Roughnecks FC at Greater Nevada Field on Sept. 29, which extended a four-game unbeaten run dating back to April 21. Reno is 6-2-7 in 15 road matches during the 2018 campaign. Forward Brian Brown leads the team and ranks tied for fourth in the league with 16 goals this season. Additionally, midfielder Antoine Hoppenot leads the team with and ranks tied for third in the USL with 12 assists.

As part of the USL's new broadcast deal with ESPN, all league matches will now be streamed live on ESPN+, which is ESPN's new subscription-based, direct-to-consumer streaming platform. All T2 matches will now stream live on ESPN+ for those residing in the United States; international viewers can still stream matches live via YouTube.
