PORTLAND, Ore. – Playing their seventh game at home this season, T2 will play host to OKC Energy FC at Providence Park on Friday, June 16. Set to begin at 7:30 p.m. (Pacific), Friday’s match will be available via a live, high-definition web stream at www.timbers2.com.
The match on Friday marks the second and final regular-season match between the two clubs in 2017. In four all-time meetings against OKC Energy FC, T2 trail the series 1-3-0. Portland is 1-1-0 in two matches all-time at home against Energy FC. In the last meeting in Portland, T2 defeated OKC 4-0 on Sept. 4, 2016. Three different players scored in the win for T2, with midfielder Villyan Bijev recording a brace, midfielder Blake Bodily and forward Augustine Williams each tallying a goal apiece, and midfielder Andre Lewis recording two assists.
T2 (1-11-1, 4pts) enter Friday’s contest looking to bounce back from a 2-0 loss on the road to Real Monarchs SLC on June 10 at Rio Tinto Stadium. Monarchs SLC took the lead just before halftime when midfielder Andrew Brody tapped in from close range in the 41st minute. T2 goalkeeper Kendall McIntosh finished the match with six saves. Bijev leads Portland with three goals this season, while Williams and midfielder Victor Arboleda have two tallies apiece.
OKC Energy FC (4-5-2, 14pts) enters Friday’s match after playing to a scoreless draw at home against San Antonio FC at Taft Stadium on June 10. OKC goalkeeper C.J. Cochran recorded his first clean sheet in his first start of the season in the scoreless result against San Antonio. OKC currently sits in 12th place in the Western Conference standings, and is 3-1-1 in its last five matches. Three players are tied for the team lead with two goals, while four players have each scored one goal. Goalkeeper Cody Laurendi leads the team with 23 saves and two shutouts in 10 appearances this season for Energy FC.
