USL MATCH PREVIEW & STREAM | T2 play host to Tulsa Roughnecks FC Sunday at Providence Park; Kickoff moved to 12:00pm

PORTLAND, Ore. – Playing their second match in five days, T2 will play host to Tulsa Roughnecks FC on Sunday, Sept. 3. Set to begin at 12 noon (Pacific), Sunday’s match will be available via a live, high-definition web stream at www.timbers2.com.

The match on Sunday marks the second and final meeting between T2 and Roughnecks FC this season, with Portland falling 3-1 in the previous meeting between the two clubs at ONEAK Field on May 27. In four all-time meetings dating back to 2015, Portland has a 3-1-0 record against Tulsa.

T2 (2-18-4, 10pts) enter Sunday’s match following a 1-1 draw on the road against Rio Grande Valley FC Toros at H-E-B Park on Wednesday. Scoreless in stoppage time, T2 took the lead in the 92nd minute following a free kick on the right edge of the penalty area. Midfielder Jack Barmby crossed the ball into the box, picking out defender Lamar Batista, whose header was blocked by a Rio Grande Valley defender. Defender Bill Tuiloma was first to the loose ball inside the six-yard box and headed past Toros goalkeeper Borja Angoitia. The goal was Tuiloma’s second of the season in his fourth appearance of 2017. RGVFC equalized two minutes later when defender Kai Greene got on the end of defender Justin Bilyeu’s headed pass inside the six-yard box, and nodded the ball into the back of the net in the 94th minute.

Nine different players have scored for T2 this season, with midfielder Villyan Bijev leading the club with seven goals, while defender Marco Farfan and midfielder Omar Mohamed are tied for the team lead in assists (2). Additionally, goalkeeper Kendall McIntosh ranks fourth in the USL and leads Portland with 74 saves.

Tulsa Roughnecks FC (11-10-3, 36pts) head into Sunday’s match following a 1-0 win over Seattle Sounders FC 2 at Starfire Stadium on Wednesday. Roughnecks FC hold a 3-6-3 record on the road this season and sit in fifth place in the Western Conference standings. Forward Ian Svantesson leads the team and ranks tied for sixth in the USL with 10 goals, while midfielder Juan Pablo Caffa ranks first on the team with six assists.

Following Sunday’s match, T2 will play host to Real Monarchs SLC at Providence Park on Saturday, Sept. 9; kickoff is set for 7 p.m. (Pacific).
