USL MATCH PREVIEW | T2 to face Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC Wednesday at Merlo Field

PORTLAND, Ore. – Heading into Week 20 of the 2016 USL season, T2 will play host to Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC at Merlo Field on Wednesday, Aug. 3; kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. (Pacific).

The match on Wednesday marks the third and final meeting between T2 and Switchbacks FC in 2016, with Portland sustaining a 1-0 loss on the road at Switchbacks Stadium on May 13, while the two teams battled to a 1-1 draw at Merlo Field on July 7.

T2 (5-11-3, 18pts) enter Wednesday’s match looking to bounce back from a 1-0 loss to Cascadia-rival Seattle Sounders FC 2 on July 24 at Starfire Stadium. Making his 12th start of the season, T2 goalkeeper Kendall McIntosh finished the match with a season-high six saves. During the 2016 USL campaign, 10 different players have scored for T2, including Victor Arboleda, Nick Besler, Villyan Bijev, Blake Bodily, Neco Brett, Kharlton Belmar, Rennico Clarke, Dylan Damraoui, Andre Lewis and Ben Polk. Through 19 games, Brett leads the team in goals (4), while Belmar ranks first in assists (3).

Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC (9-6-5, 32pts) head into Wednesday’s match following a 1-1 draw against Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 on July 29 at Switchbacks Stadium. Sitting in third place in the Western Conference, Switchbacks FC have a 3-5-2 record on the road. Forward Martin Maybin, who last scored in a 2-1 loss to Saint Louis FC on July 23, leads the team with six goals, while forward Mike Seth leads the team with five assists.
