T2 pick up road win
Playing on the road for a second straight week, T2 defeated Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC 1-0 at Weidner Field on March 24. Forward Augustine Williams recorded his second goal of the season, as Portland secured its first win of the 2018 USL regular season. After making his season debut as a second-half substitute, defender Lamar Batista unleashed a shot from the edge of the box that forced Switchbacks FC Steward Ceus to parry the ball. First to the rebound, Williams calmly slotted his finish inside the six-yard box into the back of the net in the 82nd minute. The win over Switchbacks FC marked the first victory for T2 head coach Cameron Knowles.
USL Team of the Week
Portland Timbers goalkeeper Jeff Attinella, who was on loan to Timbers 2 after returning from an injury sustained in preseason, was named to the USL Team of the Week bench for Week 2 after registering four saves and a shutout in T2's 1-0 win on the road against Switchbacks FC.

Scouting Real Monarchs SLC
Real Monarchs SLC (1-0-0, 3pts) enter Saturday’s match following a 3-2 victory over Tulsa Roughnecks FC on the road at ONEAK Field on March 24 in their opening match of the 2018 USL season. Forward Corey Baird opened the scoring for Monarchs SLC in the seventh minute, only for Tulsa to score in the 61st and 83rd minutes. Monarchs forward Chandler Hoffman leveled the match in the 89th minute, before midfielder Charlie Adams scored the game-winning goal in the 90th minute.
