Thorns FC announced today the signing of forward Janine Beckie in a special trade and transfer transaction with Racing Louisville and Manchester City. Here are some quick facts on the newest Thorns player.

- Born in Colorado to Canadian parents, Beckie has dual citizenship and represents Canada at the international level where she has appeared 86 times (72 starts) and scored 34 goals
- Was part of Canada’s team at the 2019 Women’s World Cup in France
Texas Tech
- Was the all-time leading scorer for the women’s soccer team at Texas Tech with 57 career goals.
NWSL College Draft
- Selected eighth overall in the first round of the 2016 NWSL College Draft by the Houston Dash
Olympic Medalist x 2
- Was teammates with current Thorns head coach Rhian Wilkinson and captain Christine Sinclair at the Rio 2016 Summer Olympic Games where Canada won bronze
- Scored the fastest goal in Olympic history in a 2-0 win over Australia at the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics
