Portland Timbers goalkeeper Jake Gleeson continued his strong play of late helping his team to their second straight clean sheet on the road in a 0-0 draw with the New York Red Bulls. Credited with four saves in the match, Gleeson had key stops in the 78th minute and in stoppage time to help keep the Red Bulls off the board.
Gleeson also had help. With an organized backline in front of him and midfielder Diego Chara helping boss the midfield, New York was limited to only four shots on goal.
For their performances, MLS named Gleeson to their weekly best XI Team of the Week with Chara earning a bench spot.
