This Earth Day on Sunday, April 22, 2018, Stand Together is proud to present our first “Green Game” as the Portland Timbers welcome New York City FC to Providence Park (3pm PT, FS1). In support of Major League Soccer’s Greener Goals Week of Service, Stand Together’s Green Game will showcase a number of sustainability initiatives, local environmental organizations and engaging activations.
Stand Together invites you to join in on the Earth Day festivities. Here’s how:
MLS x Parley
For a second season, MLS has collaborated with adidas to support Parley for the Oceans. Teams across the league will wear special adidas kits made from recycled plastic gathered from the oceans. The Timbers will wear the carbon Parley kits against NYCFC, and a select number of game-worn jerseys will be auctioned off at www.PTFC.gesture.com with all proceeds benefitting Stand Together community initiatives.
Timbers Parley kits are currently available for purchase at the Timbers Team Store this week as well as at Providence Park on matchday.
Free Trees & Flowers
The first 2,500 supporters at Sunday’s match will receive a free packet of sunflower seeds to plant. Additionally, Timbers partner Hampton Lumber will hand out free tree saplings from their table on the stadium concourse post-match while supplies last.
Biking & Ride Share on Matchday
Providence Park offers bike parking for all Timbers matches, and Sunday would be a great opportunity to take advantage of this great initiative.
Or you can share a ride to the park with Lyft Line. The club partner is providing a discount of 25% with the code GREENGAME on rides to Providence Park on Sunday.
Additionally, when you use the same code – GREENGAME – on any Lyft ride Sunday to or from the stadium, Lyft will donate $5 to the Portland Timbers Community Fund.

You can make a register donation at any merchandise location at Providence Park on Sunday to help support Ecology in the Classrooms and Outdoors, a Stand Together Community Partner.
Pick up the new April “Dig In” Scarf of the Month and a portion of the proceeds will support Friends of Trees.
