As part of our inaugural group of ticket holders, Terra and Patrick won the chance to have a VIP experience for the Portland Timbers vs. Chivas USA match on April 12th, including KeyBank Club seats, and a chance to visit with Timber Joey on the field!
We asked Terra and Patrick a few questions after the match.
What was your first memory of/first match supporting the Timbers?
The first Timbers match we went to was in 2004 against the San Jose Earthquakes. We knew of the Earthquakes and the MLS from living on the East Coast. It was the first we had heard of the Timbers. We sat on the west side and knew that we wanted to be part of the Army. That was the beginning of our love for the Timbers.
What was your favorite moment of the match today?
We really loved sitting so close to the field. The action is much better:) It was also awesome to experience the Army from an outside perspective. They (we) have a huge impact on the atmosphere.
Who would you nominate as Player of the Match?
Probably Will Johnson because he scored the only goal, or maybe Nagbe because he commands so much attention from the opposing team.
What is your prediction for the next match – Timbers versus Real Salt Lake?
We will be optimistic and say that we are going to get our first win at Rio Tinto.
What else should we know about your Timbers fandom or feedback about your Axe experience?
We have to give a shout out to our 105 J's! They are our CREW! It's pretty cool to be able to raise Esther in a city that has such a great soccer atmosphere. Our experience tonight was amazing. It proves that our organization is first class! Thanks for the opportunity. RCTID!!!
