We asked Bill a few questions after the match.
What was your first memory of/first match supporting the Timbers?
Coming into Portland from Hood River to watch the Timbers play in 1978. I was one of the few at the time that played high school soccer in Oregon.

What else should we know about your Timbers fandom? Any favorite pieces of Timbers memorabilia?
I started wearing a green kilt to games. We like to sit in section 108, near the front. And I love to wear my Timbers watch!
I have volunteered as a rec soccer coach for 16 years, served on the rec clubs board for 14 years, and still coach, even with my son being twenty-one and my daughter twenty. My son is a referee, my daughter plays for Concordia Women’s team, and my wife, Janine, understands offsides.
