We asked Juan a few questions after the match.
What was your first memory of/first match supporting the Timbers?
"[My first memory was] in college going to the A-league Timbers games when there was only a few hundred people in the TA section. The group used to be called Cascade Rangers, I believe. Seeing players like [Hugo] Alcaraz-Cuellar, [Alan] Gordon, [Byron] Alvarez and Thirsty Thursday's. :)"
What was your favorite moment of the match tonight?
"Asprilla’s golazo . . . it was a great goal and emotional celebration."
Who would you nominate as Player of the Match?
"Valeri and Guzmán – he was all over the field looking for opportunities."
What is your prediction for the next MLS match – Timbers at Sporting Kansas City?
"We win 2-0."
What else should we know about your Timbers fandom? Any favorite pieces of Timbers memorabilia?
"I have an A-league Timbers soccer ball signed by some (now) old players and a Timbers jersey with the old tree 🌲 logo crest."
