Coming at 96:38, the Brazilian's golazo set a new team record; Club also earned latest comeback win in club history.
This past Saturday, Timbers midfielder Evander capped his team's comeback with an audacious and spectacular strike from distance to propel Portland to a 2-1 win over New York City FC at Yankee Stadium.
The "walk-off" goal set a new team record as the latest game-winning goal in club history.
For some historic context, Evander's goal beat the previous record held by Nat Borchers who scored at the 94:58 mark in Portland's 1-0 road win over Real Salt Lake on Aug. 15, 2015.
Evander's feat wasn't the only new club record set on Saturday.
With fellow Brazilian Antony – who assisted on Evander's game-winner – sparking the comeback with an 85th minute equalizer to even the score at 1-1, the two goals at the 85th and 97th minutes also marked the team's latest comeback win in club history.
