RECAP | Evander golazo at the death earns Portland Timbers 2-1 walk-off win over New York City FC

NEW YORK – Evander tallied a stoppage-time golazo at the death to lift the Portland Timbers to a come-from-behind, 2-1 victory over New York City FC Saturday afternoon at Yankee Stadium. Midfielder Antony also contributed a goal and an assist to Portland's winning effort.

Portland remains unbeaten through three games (2-0-1) to start the 2024 MLS regular season and sit atop the Western Conference standings.

Portland has started its 2024 MLS campaign unbeaten with a mark of 2-0-1 and is currently first in the Western Conference with a goal differential of four. It marks the best start of any head coach in club history for Phil Neville. Notably, today’s result was the first time Portland has won a match after trailing at half time on the road since November 30, 2018, against Sporting KC.
