HOUSTON, Texas – Portland Timbers midfielder Diego Valeri had a goal and an assist and Sebastián Blanco scored his second goal in as many games as the Timbers drew 2-2 with the Houston Dynamo Saturday night at BBVA Compass Stadium. Mauro Manotas and Juan Cabeza scored the goals for Houston.

1' - CHANCE (POR) - Timbers midfielder Darlington Nagbe sprinted down the middle right off the bat and let loose a low, skipping shot that forced a diving save from Houston goalkeeper Tyler Deric.
13' - GOAL (POR) - Diego Valeri scored his team-leading 11th goal of the season to put Portland up early. Portland defender Zarek Valentin set up the goal when he was sprung down the right side following a pass from Nagbe. Valentin then buzzed a cross along the ground to Valeri near the top of the 18-yard box. A Houston defender went for the ball, missed, and then Valeri roofed his shot past Deric for a 1-0 Portland lead.
37' - GOAL (HOU) - Houston's Andrew Wenger lofted a cross into the mixer that Timber goalkeeper Jake Gleeson got a hand to but the ball fell to Mauro Manotas who turned and hit into the back of the net to even the score at 1-1.
40' - CHANCE (POR) - Timbers midfielder David Guzmán whipped a curling free kick around the Houston wall but just wide of the right post.
43' - GOAL (POR) - Portland's Sebastián Blanco scored his second goal in as many games as he took a brilliantly slipped pass from Valeri inside the 18 and nailed it home for a 2-1 Portland lead.
45+2' - SAVE (POR) - Gleeson made a great save on Houston's Manotas when he parried the Dynamo forward's close-range shot up to the crossbar. The Timbers defense then cleared the ball away.
52' - CHANCE (POR) - After a sustained stretch of strong Portland possession, Blanco carried into the box, cut back and hit a low shot that Deric knocked away.
55' - CHANCE (POR) - Portland believed they scored their third goal of the game when Diego Chara and Fanendo Adi combined to pressure the Houston back line. Deric well out of his net before missing the ball, Chara then fed to Adi who dribbling in and scored on the open net only for the referees to confer and waive off the goal due to an offside ruling.
65' - CHANCE (POR) - Valeri found Nagbe in the central channel who dribbled towards goal and tapped a short pass to Adi. He took a touch and shot but it was saved by Deric.
81' - GOAL (HOU) - Houston evened the score when Memo Rodríguez curled a free kick in towards the Portland back post that Juan Cabezas headed in to tie the game at 2-2.
The Portland Timbers will next play the LA Galaxy on Aug. 6 at Providence Park (1pm PT, ESPN).
