MATCH RECAP | Portland Timbers battle to 0-0 draw with Real Salt Lake

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Timbers extended their unbeaten streak to three games with their second straight clean sheet as Portland played to a 0-0 draw against Real Salt Lake Saturday night at Providence Park.

Match Moments

16' - CHANCE (POR) - Portland took a short corner kick to Santiago Moreno on the near side of the 18-yard box. Moreno chipped it across to Bill Tuiloma who headed it on goal but right to RSL goalkeeper Zac MacMath.

20' - CLEARANCE (POR) - RSL's Justin Meram, deep in the Portland end on the near corner, curled a free kick towards goal the Portland goalkeeper Aljaz Ivacic came out authoritatively to punch away.

26' - CHANCE (POR) - Tuiloma curled a free kick around the wall from about 20 yards out from goal but MacMath was in position to make the catch.

38' - CHANCE (POR) - As RSL tried to clear the ball from their area, Cristhian Paredes fired a dipping half-volley from 35 yards out forcing MacMath to jump and tip the shot over the net.

45' - CHANCE (POR) - On a Portland throw-in in the attacking third, the ball went to the middle for Tuiloma to run on and hit a low, swerving shot that narrowly missed the left post.

76' - SAVE (POR) - Ivacic remained alert as a ball over the top found RSL's Maikel Chang sneak to back post for a shot but the Timbers goalkeeper made the save.

90+3' - CHANCE (POR) - Timbers pushed ahead and Jaroslaw Niezgoda found space just outside the arc to turn and fire but MacMath made the save.
