FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Despite a second half goal from defender Bill Tuiloma, the Portland Timbers lost 2-1 to Inter Miami CF Saturday night at DRV PNK Stadium.

5' - SAVE & COUNTER (POR) - On a Miami corner kick that was whipped in towards goal, goalkeeper Aljaz Ivacic alertly punched the ball out and the Timbers broke forward on transition. A blocked Timbers pass was knocked into the air near the edge of the 18-yard box where Cristhian Paredes volleyed an attempt just over the bar.
13' - SAVE (POR) - Ivacic made a one-handed, diving save to parry away a curling shot from Miami's Bryce Duke in the 13th minute.
27' - GOAL (MIA) - Miami took a 1-0 lead in the 27th minute when a chipped in ball from Christopher McVay was headed into the Timbers net by forward Leonardo Campana.
31' - SAVE (POR) - Ivacic came up with another big stop four minutes later when he dove to his left to knock away a header from close range delivered by Campana.
45+3' - CHANCE (POR) - Midfielder David Ayala sprayed a ball out to the left for defender Justin Rasmussen to carry into the edge of the 18-yard box. Rasmussen cut back to his right foot and fired a hard shot on goal that forced a diving save from Miami goalkeeper Drake Callender.
46' - SAVE (POR) - Ivacic made another save just after halftime when he got down low and knocked away a shot from Miami's Ariel Lassiter.
59' - GOAL (MIA) - Miami went up 2-0 midway through the second half. They carried the ball ahead ahead with Lassiter shooting from the wing and hitting the far post. Inter's Robert Taylor ran in to one-time the loose ball into the back of the net.
65' - SAVE (POR) - Ivacic again went to his left to deny a dipping free kick shot attempt from Miami's Jean Mota.
78' - GOAL (POR) - Bill Tuiloma pulled a goal back for Portland in the 78th minute with a commanding header. Paredes quickly took a short corner on the near side, passing to teammate Santiago Moreno. The midfielder quickly crossed a ball in that was deflected but right into the path of Tuiloma who directed a diving header into goal.
81' - CHANCE (POR) - Portland worked the ball down the right channel with Moreno eventually pushing a ball to forward Nathan Fogaça who attempted a shot heading to the upper corner that Miami's Callender had to jump high to save.
90' - CHANCES (POR) - The Timbers broke forward with Sebastián Blanco chipping a ball to the back post that was deflected down to Paredes. Paredes laced a shot that clanged off the left post but the ball bounced to Blanco. He shed a defender but put his shot high.

The Portland Timbers now enter the international break and will return to play on Saturday, June 18 when they travel to face the LA Galaxy at Dignity Health Sports Park (2pm PT, ESPN).
