Bonilla and Venezuela are set to face Malta and Saudi Arabia in June
PORTLAND, Ore. – Timbers defender Pablo Bonilla was called into Venezuela’s Men’s National Team for the upcoming FIFA international break, the club announced today. Bonilla will join Venezuela on May 29 to play a pair of friendly matches.
Bonilla and Venezuela will first square off against Malta on June 1 at the National Stadium Malta in Ta’Qali, Malta. Eight days later, they will head to Murcia, Spain to face Saudi Arabia at Estadio Nueva Condomina.
Bonilla, 22, joins the Venezuela Men’s National Team for the third time in his career. The Acarigua, Venezuela native most recently joined the senior team to play in two World Cup qualifying matches in January and February. Bonilla has been part of the Venezuelan U-20’s and U-23’s since 2019 and started in three consecutive appearances for Venezuela in the 2020 CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament.
