The whole sequence was a thing of beauty, but Will Johnson is the Portland Timbers player to claim the accolade.
Johnson was named the winner of Week 13's AT&T Goal of the Week on Friday for his volleyed finish in Portland's 4-3 loss to the Vancouver Whitecaps last weekend. The veteran midfielder found the back of the net with a well-taken strike that came following a sequence that included a fantastic ball from Diego Valeri transformed into a gorgeous juggling flick from Fanendo Adi that is sure to earn some consideration for assist of the season, and the tally claimed more than 42 percent of the vote in a week that saw several other spectacular goals scored.
Kamani Hill finished in second place in Week 13's voting for his nifty flying backheel finish in the Colorado Rapids' convincing 3-0 triumph over the Houston Dynamo, and Jean-Baptiste Pierazzi saw his winning screamer in the San Jose Earthquakes' 2-1 victory over FC Dallaswind up in third.
Johnson is the second member of the Timbers to win the award this season. Gaston Fernandez was the first to do so, claiming the award back in Week 9.
