Portland Timbers and Thorns FC's philanthropic efforts throughout the year were recognized at the 2023 PBJ Corporate Philanthropy Awards ceremony on Oct. 25.
On Wednesday, the Portland Business Journal (PBJ) recognized the Portland Timbers and Thorns FC's continued work in the community at the 2023 Corporate Philanthropy Awards.
PBJ's annual Corporate Philanthropy Awards are a celebration of community service and corporate giving. PBJ honors the top companies who display exemplary philanthropic practices and develop innovative and unique partnerships between companies and nonprofits.
On The Way Up!
This year, the Timbers and Thorns organization landed the no. 2 spot in the 'Large Company' category for their philanthropic involvement over the last 12 months. Improving from being the no. 5 ranked company at last year's gala, the recognition highlights the organization's continuous endeavors to harness the power of sport to improve the lives of children and families in the region.
Dr. Robin Beavers, the VP of Community and Social Impact, was on hand to accept the award for the club's Stand Together community initiatives supporting activity and wellness, education, environment, and social equity programs in Portland and beyond.
