Quick Strikes by Simple | Portland Timbers vs. Toronto FC - May 23, 2015

Quick Strikes, Timbers @ TFC, 5.23.15

Heading to Canada for the second time in May, the Portland Timbers will look to duplicate its win at Montreal when they take on Toronto FC on Saturday (2pm PT, ROOT SPORTS). Here are five numbers to know for #TORvPOR in the latest Quick Strikes by Simple.

990Defenders Nat Borchers and Liam Ridgewell, along with goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey have been on the field for every single moment of the Timbers season so far with 990 minutes played. Portland is the only MLS team who have had both their centerbacks and their goalkeeper play every minute of league play in 2015.

1Since the start of the 2014 season, the Timbers have only one loss on the road against Eastern Conference opponents. In total, Portland is 4-1-2 over the span against teams from the East.

298/299 Having not been used as a substitute since his rookie season, Borchers has started 298 of the 299 MLS matches he has played since debuting for the Colorado Rapids in 2003. With his next match, Borchers will join teammate Jack Jewsbury with 300 MLS matches played. If the centerback starts twice more in MLS play, he will join an elusive club of 300 match-starters that currently only has 11 members all-time--D.C. United's Bobby Boswell will reach the milestone in his next start.

2.5 In the last four matches against Toronto FC, the Timbers have averaged 2.5 goals per game. The 10 goals over that span were scored by nine different players including current Timbers Jewsbury, Darlington Nagbe, Rodney Wallace, Will Johnson, Diego Valeri, and Fanendo Adi.

6 Saturday's match will be the fourth time Portland has played at BMO Field, which has recently undergone renovations to increase capacity. In the 40-year history of the Timbers, Portland has played more matches in Toronto's Varsity Stadium than any other stadium in Ontario with six matches.
