No team in MLS scores more goals in the final 15 minutes of matches than the Portland Timbers. Those late-game heroics were on display again Saturday night, as two late Fanendo Adi goals delivered all three points to Portland against the New England Revolution. Here are three #StatMan takeaways from the match
6 Coming into the match in the 67th minute, Adi turned the game on its head, scoring two goals to power Portland to victory. It was Adi's sixth multi-goal game for the Timbers and his second this season. Since Adi's debut in May 2014, no MLS player has more braces than Adi.
3 With the victory, Portland has won three consecutive regular season matches for the first time since joining MLS in 2011. Since the club's founding in 1975, Portland has 21 winning streaks of three or more games.
19-4 The Timbers peppered Bobby Shuttleworth and his goal for the majority of the match, while Portland's defense held firm, leading to a 19-to-4 shot advantage on the evening for the Rose City. With the shutout, Adam Kwarasey has six clean sheets on the season, which is third most in the league.
