PORTLAND, Ore. – Timbers midfielder Andy Polo has been called up by the Peruvian National Team for a pair of friendly matches against Panama (Jan. 16) and Jamaica (Jan. 20), the Peruvian Football Federation announced this week.
In preparation for World Cup Qualifiers, Polo joined the team in his home country for training camp to prepare to face Panama and Jamaica at Estadio Nacional de Lima in Lima, Peru. Kickoff for both matches are set for 1 p.m. (Pacific).
Polo, 27, received his first call-up since Oct. 6 in 2020 when he joined Peru for a pair of qualifying matches, making appearances in both games. The Lima, Peru native has scored one goal in 31 appearances for the senior team since his debut in 2016. This is Polo’s first call-up since his season-ending injury on May 25, 2021.
