Pride Month has come to a close and the Portland Timbers and Thorns FC raised a total of $22,780 benefitting the Q Center across the club's various fundraising initiatives.
The center, whose mission is “to provide safe spaces, community building and empowerment for the positive transformation of LGBTQ2SIA+ communities and allies,” is “the largest LGBTQ+ community center in the Pacific Northwest.” Located on North Mississippi Avenue, the Q Center has served Portland since 2005.
Committing to contributing $100 donation for each goal scored, both the Timbers and the Thorns picked a great month to go undefeated. The Timbers scored six goals which powered them to a 2-0-1 run across the month while the Thorns tallied a whopping 15 goals in their 3-0-1 month for a total of $2,100 raised.
Additionally, sales from the special edition PTFC Authentics TikTok 4 Good Pride scarf as well as an auction of Timbers, game-worn adidas Pride pre-match tops raised the total to $22,780.
