After two standout seasons at the University of Connecti­cut, Jean-Baptiste joined the Timbers as the first-round Su­perDraft pick (eighth overall) of the team on Jan. 12, 2012.

2013: Played in 26 games (22 starts) in his second MLS season, logging 2,142 minutes ... Appeared in 21 consecutive league matches from April 27 to Sept. 14, making 17 starts during that span ... Earned his first MLS assist on Rodney Wallace's second-half stoppage time equalizer in a 1-1 draw March 16 at Seattle Sounders FC ... Tallied the game-winning goal in second-half stoppage time in a 2-1 win against the LA Galaxy on July 13 at JELD-WEN Field ... Scored at 93:47, his goal against the Galaxy is the latest goal and latest game-winning goal scored in the Timbers' MLS history ... It was also his second-career MLS goal ... Was a contributor in the club finishing the season with a league-best 15 shutouts and setting an MLS single-season record with 11 of those at home ... Listed among MLSsoccer.com's 24 Under 24 series for 2013 at No. 16 as one of the top young players, under the age of 24, in the league ... Became the youngest Timbers player to score an MLS goal at 19 years, eight months and 27 days when he tallied his first professional goal in the Timbers’ season-opening 3-1 victory over the Philadelphia Union at JELD-WEN Field March 12 ... Played in six matches (4 starts) for the Timbers Reserves in the MLS Reserve League, logging 421 minutes and registering one goal ... Scored May 27 in a 2-1 loss to the Vancouver Whitecaps FC Reserves ... Contributed in back-to-back shutout wins over Seattle Sounders FC Reserves (2-0) April 10 and Whitecaps FC Reserves (3-0) April 22 ...
